Dental implants in Basking Ridge

When you have missing teeth, you don’t want just any replacement, but rather one that looks, feels, and performs like a real tooth. At the practice of Daniel W. Carey, DDS, you can take advantage of just that with our Basking Ridge dental implants.

There are more concerns about the empty space where you used to have one or more teeth than just how your smile looks. Your other teeth can shift, your jaws may be thrown out of alignment, and your ability to chew can become inefficient. Our Basking Ridge dental implants are made of two distinct parts that combine to give you a dependable new tooth. First, our cosmetic dentist will surgically place a titanium post in your jaw. The purpose of it is to act as a root. Your jaw tissue grows around the post, and ultimately fuses with it. That entire part of the process takes a few months, during which you can be fitted with a temporary tooth that is a stand in for your permanent one to follow. To complete our Basking Ridge dental implants, impressions are taken and given to the dental lab. They make you a tooth-colored crown that is subsequently cemented to the top of the post. That’s all there is to it. Unlike with traditional bridges and dentures, your implant does not require the loss of material from surrounding teeth nor the use of messy adhesives. It is fully self-sufficient and you can be confident when speaking or chewing your food. Even crunchy and tough foods are no problem at all.

Brush your implant, and floss between it and your other teeth as you would normally. With proper care, there is good reason to expect that it will last you for many years to come, and maybe even for life. Contact our office to schedule a consultation.
